Yes, yes. You are on the right track in your thinking and imagining this dystopian world.  Very much like China and their re-education of the youths and intellectuals - you will work, get work credits and then the  UBI.  No working? No food coupons for you.  This has happened in history and history repeats itself.

Now, think even further. In this scenario - add the robots and AI that the tech bros are making and want you to buy - so maybe you have the dough to buy these hard-working robots as personal appliances - and can take robots  to the clients home to do gig work under your supervision and you get credits.  So, you need to afford the robots now.  Think, think, think.

It will sort of mimic a communist China and the richy-rich will be like the CCP leadership.  But AI and robots will control you.

Now, further think - someone who is not a billionaire - how do you position yourself better now, to do ok in a world of scarcity, authoritarianism, big brother watching, climate refugees added to regular refugees, pandemics, war, polluted air and water, scarcity of oxygen?

If you say that you don't care, and don't want to marry and have kids and screw the future generations - I don't blame you. That is certainly your prerogative.  Maybe if enough people started dying out and there is a significant population drop worldwide - things will self-correct.

Or we will escape and live in a spaceship like Wall-E
