[twitter]

Thanks Fairfax County for the meals tax, the real estate assessment increase, and VA Dems for proposing more taxes. Keep voting blue. Tax and spend, tax and spend. Vote
The Rs are welcome to run some non-crazy people and dump their insane orange god-king. Until that time, there’s no other choice.
I vote with my wallet, not based on social progressivism. High taxes are anathema. One party is the tax-and-spend party. I vote the other way, because other issues are mere background noise.
As reflected in the last election, overwhelming majority of Virginians don’t want insane people running their government. Feel free to ignore that and keep losing.
The thing is, the far left is just as insane as far right. That's why we keep seesawing back and forth. Both options are terrible and the voter gets amnesia about the party not currently in power.
The far left is not as insane as the far right. What a load of hogwash. For one thing, there's really no leftist party in the United States. Even Democratic Socialists just mean they want a Norway/Sweden-style form of socialism that still rewards capitalism. One reason all the pearl clutching by the right conflating it to communism when they mean (ironically) authoritarianism is hilarious. Frankly, I'd take Democratic Socialism right now over what we got. Yeah, taxes would be higher, but we'd get a lot more for it. We'd have to deal with evil insurance companies less for health care, our education would be covered, our child care would be covered, etc. etc. I'm not really concerned with the marginal tax rate on billionaires increasing. Give me a break.
This isn’t true and it’s a tired trope you learned from your HS gov teacher or college professor and you never investigated yourself. The American left is further left than the European left on all issues except taxation. Talk to an average European about unrestricted abortion, allowing illegal immigration, and the trans sports stuff. We’ve got family in Sweden and they couldn’t believe the states allow abortions past the first term. In Sweden we had the police randomly asking Muslim appearing passengers for their IDs and “papers” on public transport.
