As Aviation HS south of Seattle is the likely inspiration, the superintendent should be happy with "Skyview HS" which is a more inclusive name as it includes aviation, space, aeronautics, and metaphorically speaking, AI and future technologies in general. While it will be a neighborhood high school, the superintendent will still get her specialty aviation/STEM/AI programs installed in there. The name fits for better or worse.
It is a silly, silly name that does not reflect the community it will serve.
The community it will served picked Skyview. Please go find something else to whine about.
Only because Oak Hill and any other regional names weren't among the 10 choices.
And, how do you know it was chosen by the community it will serve? Did all of the geographic area get an opportunity? We don't even know which community it will serve. And, that, Dr. Reid, is the problem.
Ummm there was an open and transparent process. Skyview and western were top 2. The students, you know the people the schools actually serve, picked Skyview. Google it. Or don’t. It doesn’t really matter.
Did you look at the list of names the community ACTUALLY wanted? #1= Western #2= Dulles #3= Sully #4= Oak Hill #5= Floris #6= McLearen Reid and the SB pulled "Skyview" and the names of the aviators and astronauts either out of thin air or from the bottom of the barrel of names the community suggested. Skyview might have gotten the second most votes from the random list Reid and the SB cultivated, but it was not a popular choice at all when the list the public wanted was published. You continuously stating the Skyview was the #2 choice when the list of choices was complete garbage is equivalent to asking the public who the best president has been, and the only choices given are Nixon, Trump 45, Harding, or Trump 47, and then you saying, "Trump got the second most votes for best president!" 🙄 Sure, when you completely skew and manipulate the survey, you get the results you want. The public did not want Skyview.
