It’s only for elementary school and was added at the last minute. Last school year it was supposed to be for the additional teacher training for the new ELA curriculum, but this year who knows?[/quote]
On the FCPS page they refer to it as planning time. (https://www.fcps.edu/family-resources/safety-and-transportation/limited-early-release-wednesdays) Whether it’s required or in addition to is another matter. It was initially added for state mandated training and then they decided to keep it.

The bigger concern should be over what the district counts as “instructional time” to squeeze all these early releases and a dozen snow days into a calendar that already has 179 days in it. [/quote]
