My skin became very dry due to menopause, hypothyroidism and chemo - and I use these hacks to make my skin smooth and supple. - Massage oil on your whole body before taking a shower. I put a mixture of sesame oil + jojoba oil + castor oil. Wait for 30 minutes at least before washing it off. I use this twice a day daily and sometimes I let it remain for the whole day. I have some dedicated worn sweats that I wear after my oil massage, so I am not worried about anything becoming stained etc. These three combo of oils are the only oils that actually get absorbed easily into skin. This oil combo is hack #1. Castor oil is extremely thick but it truly is nature's botox. I use the other oils just to make it easy to apply to the body. You can use castor oil directly on your forehead lines, eyebrows, eyelids, face before sleeping and it just makes your line disappear and hair grow. Also good for scalp. - Shower infrequently, don't soap too much (only the bits that become unclean or stinky should be washed daily), don't use very hot water, don't scrub too much, don't take long showers. - Use the body-butter or lotion after your shower and before bedtime. At least twice a day, if not more. - It helps if your skin is slightly damp before you apply lotion so that you can lock down that moisture on your skin. If you are not showering...you can take a warm, wet washcloth and moisten your skin with it before application of the lotion. Work in small areas at a time. Hack #2. - Whatever lotion or body-butter works for your skin - urea-based, silicone-based, petroleum-based - etc , add some small amount of glycerine and water (1:1) in that lotion or body-butter, mix well and then apply to your skin. Hack #3. . You could just use glycerine + water mixture...but it feel sticky by itself. It helps to add it to the lotion or butter so that you don't get the stickiness. Glycerine should always be used with equal parts water - otherwise it will take water out of your skin and dehydrate your skin. Remember that. - Finally, many posters have written this already but worth repeating. Hyderate. Boil some ginger/lemon/fennel/cinnamon/cloves/apples/citrus/berries (ie...anything of your choice except tea or coffee) etc in 3 liters of water for flavoring ...and keep drinking this warm water throughout the day. You are absolutely not drinking enough water, which you will realize when you will see how little of this water you actually consume in your regular day. You need warm water, slightly flavored (so that the taste is good) water. And drink between 2 - 3 liters of this water. Drink it even if you are not thirsty. Do it for just a couple days to see how dramatically your skin and hair improves. Do it for a month and your entire skin glows. Your UTIs lessen, your constipation disappears, your sinus clears up, your dry eyes will no longer be a problem. Hack # 4 for dry skin.
