Did you actually see this happening? It sounds like a complete exaggeration. I've been in different parts of Europe quite a few times, spending 99% of the time in very touristy destinations (so where people always say pickpocketing happens), and NEVER seen a pickpocket, and always carry a crossbody or backpack.[/quote]

We were just in Italy three people on our tour were pick pocketed.

Paris two friends got their wallets stolen a month ago.

Barcelona same.

Not that it matters, but in the past 18 months, my trips have included: Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Paris, Bahamas, Orlando, London, Edinburgh, Boston, Phoenix, NYC, Tokyo (again), Osaka, Bangkok (again), and Turks and Caicos, so I do travel a good deal.[/quote]
