Any attention is good attention for Trump. He’s the ultimate troll/shitposter. And you fall for it every time. Focus on his tweets that affect you or your community. Look for the hints he leaves. But this post, it’s abhorrent and not worthy of the attention you all are giving it.
No one’s falling for anything. We know that he’s a petulant attention seeking child, the entire globe knows this. We are mocking him as we should.
All that does is satiate your ego. What does it solve?
Here’s my perspective. Trump missed a chance to highlight the significant challenges of drug addiction and mental illness. It certainly would have supported his stance on drugs like fentanyl. Because Reiner said awful things about him, Trump couldn’t rise above it and deliver an executive and appropriate message. This isn’t a case where mental health treatment or drug addiction treatment wasn’t available. Rob Reiner was wealthy - frankly deservedly so - his string of cinema hits was unprecedented. Not just entertaining - but clever with a unique eye for what would catch with the public. Reiner could have and did spend a lot to save his son. The kid was apparently homeless for long stints for refusing rehab. The Reiners enforced his unwillingness to go to rehab with tough love - which is frankly exactly what the professionals in most case advise. Being a parent in this situation can simply be awful. So you have a wealthy couple with the means and willingness to slay their son’s demons, and without judgment or bias, they ended up failing. Politics doesn’t matter. Whatever their political beliefs, no one reasonable would want to walk in their shoes.
