When you get off the beltway on Georgetown pike and drive down balls hill road or Churchill road there’s lots of new construction houses just like the rest of McLean - it’s looks like thriving - then you get to McLean and there’s grocery stores restaurants etc. its not over crowded? if you get off the beltway and drive up seven locks road for example there’s not that thriving feel and no where really equivalent in MD. The Giant and Safeway shipping center are old and overcrowded - Also McLean they maintain the roads and the utilities underground! There aren’t utility lines everywhere etc. I don’t understand why the infrastructure is so bad and outdated in Potomac?
McLean is “thriving” with grocery stores and restaurants? This is a joke right? McLean doesn’t even have a real downtown. The grocery store is a really sad Safeway. As for utility lines, drive over to Arlington. They’re everywhere. It’s like they are 30 years behind the curve. Basically nothing underground. I have lots of friends there and they’re constantly complaining about power outages and many finally splurged for generators. In Moco, I’ve had one outage in the past decade and it was about four hours.
