You mean insecure rich men.  Upper class men want upper class women.  And most upper class women went to all the best private schools, just like the men - OP, if you didn’t you’re out of the running already.  Insecure men need an inferior woman to stroke their ego.

The way around this is to get the job you suggest and meet them in the workplace.  Oil and gas starting salary at a major is $175 - I’m in HR.  It’s highly competitive and we hire communications professionals.  Don’t look at the data science positions unless you have a proven track record - we cannot see beyond your degree.  If you go for a Masters in CS we might recognize you have talent.  Otherwise just swim in your lane.[/quote]

Yes communications background is also good for sales engineer in tech where you support product and run demos; in finance we also need them for investor relations.[/quote]
