Um...pretty much everyone who doesn't have their family exclusively in the DC area?  Not everyone lives in the town they were born in...And it is a big deal to wait for future holidays--not everyone has tons of vacation time and can travel whenever and wherever...

Have you ever experienced staying home, having a four day break, raking leaves and binge watching TV? Some friends feel sorry for us that we don't have a lot of family around for Thanksgiving, while others are very jealous of our four day break at home. I guess in the early 1900s, most people celebrated Thanksgiving locally and didn't try and travel thousands of miles for dry turkey.[/quote]

I have, and haven't enjoyed it.  Thanksgiving is one of the few times during the year where my kids can see all their cousins and extended family and everyone of all ages gets together for food and socialization without the pressure of work and school and activities.   Binge watching TV doesn't compare.[/quote]
