Odd. Most say the opposite, that it's not looks but demeanor that determines a man's masculinity.

Logically, it should be both, same as women. The looks, the demeanor and personality, all of it determine a person's identity and overall masculinity or femininity.

Look at effeminate acting men who look big and tough, like Dwayne Johnson. Not exactly "manly" in the traditional sense. Then there are other's who are not big and buff, such as Audie Murphy with his boyish face, or on the extreme end someone like Richard J. Flaherty who was tiny, but definitely all man. [/quote]

Dwayne Johnson is not the look - he is too big. It doesn't look natural.

Idris Elba, Morris Chestnut, Chris Hemsworth, the Aquaman guy, Kevin Costner etc are more like it.

I don’t know much about Dwayne Johnson, but I do know he’s kind and has a good sense of humor. He’s masculine because he’s not threatened by insecure dolts.
