Sarcasm aside, the answer to your question is that we don’t live in a direct democracy.  Instead of  “which side has smarter voters” it’s more like “which side has wealthier donors” and “which side owns more voting machines”.[/quote]

But being cognitively superior, shouldn’t the libs be able to easily run circles around the conservative rubes and gain control of the voting machines?

Shouldn’t the libs with their superior cognition be able to make much more money than the conservative rubes, and thereby have all the wealthiest donors on their side?
