I challenge you to find the word "negro" anywhere on the NAACP website. And no, it's not in the name. It stands for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, though they have rebranded to drop the component words and they only use the now-former acronym for their brand. Pretty common with the older civil rights and advocacy groups.

Now head to the website of ANY Latino advocacy organization. Or maybe don't, because of how offended you will be at all those people saying latino latino latino over and over, on every page.

Since we're all in a learning mood, you might be interested to know that this is regional. Latino is the preferred blanket term here in the east. But folks of latine ancestry on the west coast often prefer [b]Chicano[/b]. There, now you're a teeny bit smarter than you were. Hope it helps.
