I am wondering the same.  I was okay with the dog and pony show with AI Scout to eliminate a flood of people that you could not do basic skills or meet a minimum threshold.  But without an open process and clear public communication, it seems like the same kids being recycled and I don’t understand their point.[/quote]

This was more open than most IDs. You literally had an open app to submit to.  That wasn't the only way to get invited though.  Would you consider the US soccer regional IDs to be open or something?  Philly Union hosted the event, so obviously they're scouting.  There was a USYNT scout there as well along with the MLS Next director.  It was a solid event, doesn't hurt anything.[/quote]
