ATS is consistently ranked as the best public elementary school in Virginia and is one of the best public elementary schools in the nation. So ATS parents respond by explaining no it’s not just the parents but also the fact that the school does things differently. The critics then respond to these explanations by doubling down. So ATS parents then double down by explaining clearly what these differences are and comparing ATS to other schools. Simple. [/quote]

You probably mean in recent years. Other APS schools have received the Blue Ribbon award or it's predecessor (same thing / different name) over the past 40-plus years. [b]Arlington Traditional (previously Page Traditional) has always been ranked at or near the top in the state[/b] since it was founded in opposition to the then trendy open concept schools at Taylor, Woodmont, Long Branch, Reed, etc. ATS always eschewed the trends and stuck with what worked.
