Not everything is possible to wrap up in a bow, and sometimes life means doing a hard and awful thing just because it's right. Part of what's right here is OP letting go of any expectations of the mom. There's not gonna be some tearful thank you. It's just all pain, and the reason is so a baby didn't die. That's probably ok.
