I wonder what they used. My kid is a senior and we just started to use SchoolLinks. We favorited a school in that and selected it in the common app, so now school links has him in as “applied” even though he’s submitted nothing. I wonder how many of those were unfinished applications.
Are you in APS? I thought they all used Naviance. The way it works in Naviance is you can heart/favorite as many schools as you want. Then, you will select which schools you are applying to and the admissions method (ED/EA/RD). It doesn't automatically switch you over. This system helps the kids and counselors keep track of application deadlines. Once the references are uploaded into Naviance by the teachers and counselors, they will automatically push out to the schools that are already on the applying list. If your kid adds a school later, they will need to talk to the counselor. The students do enter their outcome in the system. I'm sure there is underreporting on both sides, just as a high stat kid might not bother with their safety, they might also not put that Stanford rejection in, either. The only one that the student MUST change is where they are attending so the final transcript can be sent. The system is pretty smooth. My DC did update for all schools.
