That old thread has a post about using a flashlight. I learned that during a year off college when I worked in a mine (specifically, a plant at the mine where ore was processed). Very industrial with conveyors and catwalks and giant machinery and all, and I was taught to use a flashlight when looking for something (say a tool that had dropped). It's partly about more light when you're looking, but also about making your eyes focus on the spot where the flashlight is shining. [/quote]
