The critical comments like 09:49 are why I hope AI replaces message board like this cesspool. DCUM was so much more normal years ago. I guess its popularity brought in more trolls. Or DC itself now has even more horrible people if that’s possible.
That was me and how is it trolling to say a doctor should be asked over ChatGPT
Have you really never encountered a medical issue that (a) is complex enough to be beyond the expertise of a generalist like a pcp or hospitalist (and they will tell you such), and (b) involves multiple systems, for which each specialist is confident in their own expertise, but not in how it affects the other systems (and they will tell you such)? Good for you. It's possible a day will come when your providers are stymied, and you are trying to figure out what's actually going on big-picture, and then perhaps you will understand this conversation. Wish you well.
I work in a hospital so, yes, I have encountered such medical issues (not personally) and I do not recommend using AI to unravel them. Wish you and your dd well, too.
FWIW, chatgpt homed in on some possibilities that were supported by peer-reviewed medical literature, that led to new conversations with providers, which led to new a couple of not-previously-considered tests, whose results pointed us toward a specialist whose expertise is an extremely narrow area of focus. Appointment in Boston next week. (Fingers crossed. After six years, it would be nice to get this kid some answers). In this case, Chatgpt was complementary to what the physicians were offering, not an alternative.
