Any updates on DCE tryouts and team formations? Typically may I ask how big their rosters are for HS?
My son was offerred a spot on one of the HS Black teams in the past. He was told they were going to roster 27-28 kids and it could go up from there as the season goes a long. I took that to mean when a better player shows up and bumps kids down the pecking order.
Way too many kids. The games just aren't that long to worry about it too much. Maybe a 7th middle is all you'd need. D/Attack are fine w 5. 2 lam's. ssdm's, 2 fogo's and 2 goalies. And be careful, they go by equal play.
not in my experience
Too Many! It will hit 30 by the 3rd summer. Doesn't matter how good you are at DCE they play equally or almost depending on the game situation. The problem with bloated roster it doesn't allow for boys to get in a rhythm and then they press too much. They will try and force things and hero ball will creep in. It can get messy and disjointed quickly. It also brings drama and discontent. This is not rec and it cost more then rec. Buyer beware! You either except it or find a lesser club where you organically will be the top dawg and play average tournaments but also keep in mind the HS team situation as well. In the end DCE will get you the eyeballs and your HS as well so you need to look at the whole picture going forward. Best of luck!
Think PP was saying that DCE does not do equal playing time in their experience. That is what I hear as well.
