$60K for 4 for a cruise around the Galapagos. Worth every penny.
Same. Agreed. An incredible vacation, my kids still talk about it as their favorite trip ever.
Hmm. We just did this and I think it was more like 40-50 for a family of 4. With the Quito add on tour. It was a great trip but honestly I don’t know that it was 2-3 times better than some of the other trips we’ve taken such as Hawaii. Galapagos is not beautiful in the way Hawaii is and I think I saw more wildlife in other places—the thing about Galapagos is that the wildlife is somewhat weirder (like blue footed boobies). I’m not posting this to harsh your vibe but just so that other posters don’t feel bad about not being able to afford his kind of trip. I’m really not sure it’s the best bang for your buck.
I did the National Geographic/Lindblad trip and I think we paid about $60 k for our family. It was awesome and we did see incredible wildlife, definitely better than Hawaii, but I also don’t think you need to spend $60k to see it. If you stay on one of the main islands for cheap, you can book plenty of day trips out to the smaller islands or to snorkel. The expensive trips just make it a very easy and relaxing weeks, with ever my part of your day planned and taken care of.
