Emory has 36k applicants

Highly doubt that anyone turns down Notre Dame for Emory. Replace Notre Dame with Johns Hopkins.

I would definitely strongly consider Emory over ND. Academics are roughly equivalent. Adjacent to big city vs. middle of nowhere. Diverse student body vs. very homogeneous. I'm not saying this to knock ND - incredible school. But Emory has some positive differentiating factors.[/quote]

Yes, Emory has 4.2 reputation score on US news and is ranked 69. While ND is ranked 322. The global rankings are academic/research only rankings. [/quote]

Academic reputation score fluctuates a bit every year. ND was higher in 2023.

ND has 17 billion dollars it obviously has a slightly leg up. That leg up has nothing to do with academic reputation. You can even look at grad school placement and see Emory students place better into elite grad school than ND... why because it's academically better and yes we do care about global rankings.
