I'm just curious if you know anything about the human hair industry.  It's very exploitive.  Impoverished women sell their hair because they desperately need the money; agents low-ball them and then resell the hair, which is marked up and sold for $$$ in salons.

Doesn't it make you sad to think of how many years it took someone who lives a very tough life to grow that hair?  That woman would come from a society in which a woman's hair/appearance means a lot, and cutting it off short must have been an act of desperation for her.  You are just going to wear her hair as an ornament and then throw it away.[/quote]

They don't always cut it short, just shortER.  The majority of it comes from India--and if you've spent much time there you know how much hair the average Indian woman has.  Loads.  [/quote]
