I’m the person you quoted and I don’t believe the Israelis are in an existential fight for their lives, so I don’t see why you’re yelling at me.

But if the U.S. backed off and all of Western society ignored the Middle East, Israel would surely push ahead with far more savage bombing campaigns in Gaza (and in the West Bank) to clear the entire area of Palestinians. It would not be good for anyone, but it would especially not be good for Palestine. Israel has now already made separate peace agreements with various other neighbors, and they clearly have a more powerful military than Iran does, so why would you think Israel wouldn’t have an advantage in this imaginary thunder dome scenario?[/quote]
