People so jelly because kids from division 20 want to swim for back-back-back D1 champs. Maybe fast swimmers want to have fun and be pushed by other fast swimmers…
Maybe the fastest 10 year-old in the league is on the old team, not the new team. So you couldn’t be more wrong. Also, maybe 9 year-olds have no say in what pool they join. It’s 100% on the parents- but more specifically, it’s on the pool boards that don’t follow their own protocol.
Is this a joke?! Fastest 10 year old in the league? 🤣. This is summer swim people. Get it together!
+1 Who on Earth would write something like this? The fastest 10 year old?! The kids are diving off a pool ledge into 3.5 ft deep water. These dual meet times on the NVSL website are not the equivalent of Olympic Trials. I honestly feel sorry for this poster. There seems to be a disconnect from reality and what’s important.
Not all NVS pool facilities are equal; some athletes have an advantage based on their pool and facility. This doesn't diminish the achievements of those with exceptional times.
Again, exceptional times? In a rec league summer swimming program? I have always thought about summer swimming as a team environment. Where you are trying to win together. The coach may swim you in off events week to week to help the team as a whole to win the meet. Personal achievements and focus are for winter club swimming. Summer swimming is about body paint, costumes, and overall fun! Teams win and lose together and hopefully have a lot of fun doing it. The phrase “exceptional times” doesn’t belong in a summer swimming program conversation. Let the kids enjoy their summers!!
Yes and no. If it were only team-centered, there would be no pool and NVSL records, no individual divisional meets, and no IAS.
