They find out soon if there will be movement.
How do people not know that rosters change significantly after 7th and 8th grade years? There’s normally a lot of movement between most teams at this age. Not clear if it’s true but it should not come as a surprise. A logical person would rather play for heroes, MnD or MDU now than wait for Capital. Next year will be even worse as good players on mediocre teams try to make better teams. Why would anyone wait until next year to try out for a better team anyway? There’d be more competition.
I definitely understand why players on BLC will leave this summer for teams that go through high school rather than waiting to be in limbo next summer while they don’t necessary have great choices and their team ends.
Agreed. The state of Capital has to have players in general recalibrating their original gameplan.
Am I missing something? What is going on with Capital?
In general DC area is losing players to Baltimore clubs in the years prior to Capital tryouts. The DC area 2029 class talent is concentrated at MnD DC. If that talented 29 MnD DC class doesn’t move to Capital, Capital runs the risk of having 3 straight years of underperforming relative to the pre 2027 classes.
Capital 25 was an exceptional team, but the outlier not the norm. 26 finished 14 and if you go back and look at 24,23,22 you’ll see teams ranked in the 14-21 range. Capital 27 and 28 are only slightly underperforming the historical norm.
People particularly at this age are trying to wade through the information, from good down to toxic on DCUM. They don't need misinformation disguised as factual. Where teams are for their sophomore year is really the only year that matters for recruiting for top echelon teams. For placement in brackets, looks by coaches and by default for the quality of the players and teams themselves. After that, many girls are committed and it's not the same environment at all. 2023 - 12 2024 - 8 2025 - 4 2026 - 7 2027 - 22 Those are the results from those years. Getting in the top 15 is giving a team those looks at most tournaments, and obviously top 10 and higher for even better quality of games, players on your team, etc. There is one that doesn't look the same as the others (unless you included 2028). Couldn't pull up where 2022's fell. Recruiting in this environment will be difficult if players are looking at the template of previous years.
