And it led to the attacks on Iran, which pretty much wrecked Iran's capabilities to project force in the Middle East, another move that was supported by 90 percent of Sunni Muslims in the region.

The pro-Palestinian movement among progressives in the US and Western Europe is very fringe. In the region, most Arabs are pretty pleased by Israel's actions. There is no popular support for Palestinians in Riyadh, Cairo, Beirut, Amman, and so on. Even Lebanon and Syria are ready to join Saudi Arabia in signing the Abraham Accords, which would normalize relations with Israel - as Jordan and Egypt did long ago.

October 7th was a disaster for Palestinians and Iran. The extremism of Shi'a nutcases in Tehran and the breathtakingly stupid decisions of Palestinians - who are not Shi'a, but aligned with Tehran anyway - are really a marvel of how not to to do things. Palestinian statesmanship has been a disaster for 80 years. They could have had a great country many decades ago. But Palestinians always make the stupidest decisions possible. And why they do that is mystifying. They are the doctors and lawyers of the Middle East. They're not idiots. And yet here we are.

Until Palestinians revolt against Hamas and Fatah, I don't see how anything is possible. Palestinians have no meaningful support among anyone anymore. No one wants them because of all the difficulties and violence they've caused in Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait and so on. Palestinian refugees are literally the last people on Earth you want in your own country because they always go to terror and violence.

For a smart people, Palestinians are really the dumbest people on Earth. And no one knows how to deal with them.

Where does the settler movement fit into your analysis of this problem? I’m no expert but I read that the seizure of Palestinian land for settlers started in the 1960s and there are now about 500,000 settlers. If it has been going on for 60 years, then clearly it’s official Israeli government policy. Are there any statistics for how many Palestinians have been killed by settlers?

The settlers in the West Bank are a longterm disaster for Israel. And it's not 500,000. It's more like 700,000. And settlers isn't the right name for them. They are almost all right wing orthodox parasites who don't do anything for work. They are colonists who don't do anything for a living. And those 700,000 sponges living off the largesse of Israeli taxpayers destroy any moral authority Israel might otherwise have.

These are the people that killed Rabin, and they are the foundation of Netanyahu and Likud's power.

Israel isn't the nice guy here. The right wingers and Orthodox in Israel are a genuine menace.

But Palestinians don't seem to recognize nuance. The people they killed on October 7th were young people at a music festival celebrating peace and a bunch of collectivist farmers on Kibbutzes. I mean, Palestinians pretty much unified all of Israel by massacring the left wing in Israel. So, consequentially, there is no opposition to a hard response against Palestinians after what they did to Israeli peaceniks.

The colonists are a problem. But the bigger problem is the absolutely stupidity of Palestinians for both their leadership decisions and their decision to target the Israeli left with their brutality. It gave the Israeli far right free reign to conduct their operations, which by any measure has been very successful.

The West Bank colonists suck, but the biggest problem is the profound stupidity of Palestinian leadership. And nothing changes until that changes. And it must be driven internally for it to matter and have legitimacy. Until Palestinians rise up against Hamas and Fatah, it's hopeless.

The Israeli right wing is in a very strong position now. And Palestinians are very weak because of their leadership choices and stupid decisions. The whole thing is very sad. Palestinians in Gaza tend to have a lot of children, and those kids are bearing the brunt of things. And that is tragic. But the anger should go toward the Palestinian elders who put those kids in such a terrible position to begin with. The last election among Palestinians occurred in 2004 - Hamas and Fatah. Every Palestinian over the age of 40 is responsible for this disaster.  [/quote]
