If you don't recognize AI slop, you probably think you're getting great stuff out of chaptgpt. With the amount of reading AOs do, I think they can tell.
Low paid AOs are much less intelligent than most students applying to selective schools and much much less intelligent than AI.
Regardless of your baseless claim, they see more essays than you do and can spot the inauthentic ones better than you can.
They really can’t. Now, they can apply their own bias. Voice, tone, and writing styles can differ greatly. At age 17 or 18, a person’s style can be heavily influenced by the last two teachers! Style can also be influenced by activities. The kid who journals everyday and reads fiction novels is going to write differently than the kid who writes a lot for mock trial or debate. AOs love the sweet, more feminine reflective tone probably because they unconsciously relate to it. If they see a boy write in this style they will “feel” it was written by someone else. Flat isn’t necessarily bad as it’s more neutral and as long as it’s loaded with things that check the boxes a safer approach. If you are only reading something for a few minutes among hundreds of others, you are even more likely to be applying your bias.
