These are safeties for middling students. UM UVA are safeties for top students.
Middling students don’t take 11 AP classes.
Yes, they do. You sound like the kind of person who says a 1300 is impressive because it's "96th percentile" or whatever it is.
UGA is 1500+
It says here a quarter of the class is coming in with below a ~1200. And the 75th percentile is 1410, which is the 25th percentile at UVA and W&M. https://oir.uga.edu/_resources/files/cds/UGA_CDS_2023-2024.pdf Put down the pipe.
Look up this year’s stats, idiot.
Still 1300-1470. 1470 being the median at UVA and W&M. https://news.uga.edu/uga-admits-class-of-2029/amp/ Again I implore you to put down the crack.
UVA and W&M have been test optional for half a decade, it’s impossible to know what their true bottom 25th percentile actually is at this point.
+100 So glad you pointed this out. There is a poster who continually brays about the test scores at UVA and W&M - and they're TEST OPTIONAL. Who knows what their true bottom scores actually are.
But who cares if other stats indicate it’s a strong student? The SAT is not a barometer of a student’s ability or future success. It is truly an optional metric.
You've missed the point entirely. At test optional schools, they're only publishing the stats of those who submit. Huge numbers of kids go TO and we'll never know what their scores were, but they were likely FAR lower than what is published. Otherwise, they would have submitted. So the PP (you?) who is constantly touting the scores of UVA and W&M is really missing the forest for the trees.
