[/quote] I'm not a teacher but I am the mom of a child with dyslexia that wasn't diagnosed until 6th grade. My child has passed the reading SOL every year - so I agree with this PP. If your child didn't pass, you need to have her evaluated and get her help.[/quote] Me again - my child had also been seeing the reading specialist all through ES and she STILL passed the SOL. OP, if you don't get your child evaluated, you are doing her a great disservice. Tutoring is not going to help in the same way that intensive remediation for a learning disability will. [/quote]
