I don't think we need to wait until 2028. Democrats and Republicans can agree that we need to get rid of this crackpot grifter and after the midterms, impeach and remove him and Vance from office.

Before prosecuting all the Trump crimes, the Democrats and Republicans need to change the laws so the next POTUS does not have the power to do all the things that Trump has been doing. The agencies must be independent of the executive branch. Guardrails must be set up. It should have happened during the Biden administration, but no one was minding the store, while the Federalist Society was lying in wait and plotting its takeover, right out in the open. That's on the Democrats. That cannot happen again. The next POTUS must relinquish power, and Congress must take back its power. [/quote]
What you seem to be proposing here is that something like 20 Senate Republicans cast a vote that will result in a President Hakeem Jeffries. Not going to happen.
