American homes built in 1950s-1970s - absent a major gut renovation - are coming up on the end of their lifespan.

That's A LOT of American housing stock. Something like 50% of the current housing stock was built in those three decades and they are all reaching the end of useable life. We not only have a major deferred infrastructure problem, but we also have a major deferred housing maintenance problem.[/quote]
