KU is more artsy than K State. I also think Manhattan is more fun than Lawrence. I can speak more to K State, which is a R1 school. The football games are a blast. The kids have fun. It isn’t a university that DCUMs approves of but you can get an excellent education there. A few years ago, the government moved its main biosecurity research to K State from New York. It’s a cute campus with happy kids. The dorms are ok. The dining halls are really nice. There is a pretty good Greek scene but it isn’t over the top like in the 1980s. There are liberals, conservatives, and MAGA on campus. Politics aren’t as widely discussed there as here in DC. The campus ice cream store is phenomenal and I visit any time I go to Manhattan! Don’t miss it if you take your daughter to tour. American Airlines flies into Manhattan regional airport (through Chicago or Dallas) 4 flights a day, IIRC.[/quote]
