Nobody thinks the new admissions process is more selective than the old one. Nobody thinks that kids cheated their way into TJ under the old system. FCPS decided to create a system that would improve diversity at a time when taking affirmative actions to improve diversity was still legal. That's a political decision they could make at the time. They couldn't do this today. The average PSAT score dropped 140 points and we expect the average SAT scores to drop by a similar amount. That's not the end of the world but it's student body is definitely less academically qualified.
