This would be the first year of E3 students taking the IAAT. Maybe they did poorly on the test and the pilot is not looking good?
Winner winner chicken dinner.
What is E3? Level 3?
It was a pilot for 2 years at first 10 and then 20 schools where all kids were given extensions to math whether they were in advanced math or not. I can't remember if advanced math kids were given even more extensions, but it was typically schools that were new to local level IV and doing the cluster model for it. This year with the change in math standards at the state level (something that happens every 7 years for every subject) they rolled out E3 to every school quietly and changed the advanced math standards substantially. They are significantly less accelerated - as one can see by comparing prior years to this year - than they were last year in at least 3rd grade. Some people are theorizing that those students at the 10 pilot schools actually didn't do well on the IAAT. This would be interesting because someone claiming to be an E3 pilot teacher on here has repeatedly stated her E3 kids did better on the 5th grade SOL than students before E3. Before someone comes on here spreading this debunked false rumor, E3 is NOT the E3 network. It stands for something like enriching, extending, and another e and then math.
