They are firing the people with the knowledge. The nuclear engineers, for instance, did not all return to work. One went to work for the UN and others may be working for foreign governments or retired. Backing up a system--even if they really did--does not replace the daily work of experienced experts tracking disease, establishing soft power, and so much more. [/quote]
