We all need to put more pressure on all media outlets, from local papers to national networks, to give full and consistent coverage to every alarming event and sign of dysfunction within the Trump administration. The public deserves the same relentless focus on Trump’s actions, decisions, and cognitive health as was given to Biden’s debate performance—no double standards. One bad debate was pretty much the only news story for several weeks. Incidents like the DC plane crash, which raised serious security and leadership concerns, should not disappear from the headlines at the first whiff of a new distraction. We should flood media organizations with emails, phone calls, letters, and social media comments, insisting on balanced and thorough reporting. Engage editors, producers, and reporters directly, and don’t underestimate the power of persistent local pressure alongside national outreach. Accountability starts with what the media chooses to spotlight, and we need to demand they do their job. Of course we still need to reach out to our representatives daily. Btw, over the past couple of weeks, I have realized that their main vm boxes are no longer full, which means people are letting up. Don’t become complacent.
Actual elections are far more important. And they're going very well for the Dems ever since Musk took office. Most Members of Congress don't care all that much about phone calls and letters when they have about 700,000 constituents. They know that the same people call and write repeatedly.
Responses like this drive me nuts. Yes, voting is important but we’re just supposed to sit around twiddling our thumbs in between elections?
Remember the 2018 midterms when the Dems gained control of the House and 2020 when Trump's unpopularity made him one of the most easily beatable incumbents to ever hold the POTUS office? History repeats itself. Especially when the same people are involved. Trump's tumultuous second term will lead to success for the Dems in the 2026 midterms and a relatively easy victory in the 2028 presidential race. Do whatever you think is effective to combat Trump's mess. The most effective driver of election outcomes in the near future will be the growing disapproval of Trump during his second term. Sound familiar? Wash, rinse, repeat.
