Rich old white people tend to live a very long time. The life expectancy at age 62 for men in the Top 20% (as measured by average monthly social security earnings) is 25.6 years. So the average affluent 62 year old will live to be 87.6. The number is certainly higher than that for men in Congress given their social status, assets, and education level. The average male member of congress likely has a life expectancy of 90+.[/quote]
