Government employees in the US generally do not have a legal right to lifetime employment, but they do have protections against arbitrary or politically motivated termination, especially after completing an initial probationary period. Prove that they have the "right to lifetime tenure employment" or STFU.

The Clinton administration undertook a massive reduction in the size of the federal bureaucracy. The goal is debatable. The DOGE approach is reprehensible.

The DOGE approach is being used precisely BECAUSE Democrats want to fight all staff and cost reductions by any means necessary.  Demands by Dems for “process” are really demands by Dems for opportunities to block spending cuts or staff reductions.  It’s the government worker party vs the private sector taxpayer party nowadays.[/quote]

I call BS. Rs control both houses, the executive branch, AND the judiciary. The extralegal measures mean that the Rs haven't built consensus. Lazy politics. Compromise is not a four letter word the last time I checked. Time to get to work building bridges. [/quote]
