Enforce the laws that can lead to draconian results like this one. There is no other country in the world that chooses option 1. We also know that the USA cannot possibly take in the entire world’s population, so the argument is really about where to draw the line. Additionally, the parents shouldn’t be excused for creating the mess in the first place. Even if we grant that the parents were legitimate asylum seekers who had not yet been granted legal status in the USA, the parents still chose to have children in the USA without legal status for themselves. Many, many American citizens choose to not have children because they are not yet ready to do so. The parents chose to have children. Finally, I don’t think the mother actually crafted the inflammatory statement. That reads like some bleeding heart NGO staffer drafted it and released it to the public in the mother’s name. [/quote]
