While it is tragic that a young life was lost but you can't reason with these parents, they think they know everything and Trump and Kennedy are the second coming of Christ. Just look out for your family, these people don't want any help.
I agree with you but do we know yet why this particular child wasn't vaccinated? The child could have been a new immigrant without access to free vaccines (or the mom was unaware of how to access them). Or the child could have been unable to get vaccines due to being immunocompromised. If either of those conditions apply, I can't place blame on the parents. But I can place blame on parents who don't vaccinate by choice thereby leaving other children vulnerable due to low herd immunity.
My thought as well. We don't know circumstances.
I’m sad that Democrats welcomed so many to illegally migrate without a single requirement of vaccinations.
Hey Dimwit—the strain circulating in West Texas is the same as the strain circulating in Europe. Also, the outbreak is in an antivaxxer Mennonite community, not illegal immigrants. Religious fundies instead.
If this were an immigrant problem, you’d expect to see outbreaks in the states with the most immigrants (California, New Jersey, New York, and Florida). Moreover, regardless of source, if children were vaccinated then exposure shouldn’t matter as much (there can be breakthrough cases, so it still matters somewhat).
