MCPS saved $5 million from the closure of the MVA. I'm sure there are cases for individual students where the alternative to the MVA was more expensive for MCPS than maintaining the virtual program, but at the end of the day MCPS is saving money from the closure (see: https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2025RS/fnotes/bil_0003/hb0583.pdf) [/quote]
