What "end of DEI" are people talking about? Just because Trump and his people want to be racist doesn't mean MCPS has to or should..
I think many blue Marylanders think that DEI policies have gone too far and need to be reconsidered.
The issue is that in many homogenously white rural areas concepts like advanced math tracks are not a problem. It's here in Montgomery County where there are issues. There appear to be two issues. The classes end up being racially skewed, possibly even just randomly and the bigger issue that social elites don't get tracked for enrichment because their kids aren't good enough, so they created this byzantine system where they can balance the races in the classes but also allow elites to garner special advantages through cramming and tutoring with resources that many don't have or at least don't think to do. Basically, excluding your average white kids that are academically minded. It's totally artificial, because it really shouldn't take that much more resources to teach calculus than balancing a check book. Generally, teachers can handle it especially if you are talking about the top 15% of kids in a class who are generally open to and excited about learning. There is no excuse here. Many would consider teaching advanced kids easier than remedial kids. Way to go MCPS, way to put elitism in elite. Bravo bravo!
You are hilarious. I assume that by elites you mean a two-fed family that can’t afford private school. No real elites are utilizing MCPS. Their kids are in private.
