I am VERA-eligible and would take a VERA and leave right now even with no extra incentives. I have 34 years in the government. However, resigning without a formal VERA agreement documented is a very risky proposition. Once you have turned in your resignation, you have no idea whether OPM/your agency might say that your position is not eligible for VERA. Then they process your resignation and you lose all your benefits. Then you are truly forked.[/quote]
