I think the most likely outcome is actually a spreading out of the destinations. You'll see significantly more top 20 matriculations but you'll also see a lot more of the George Masons, JMUs, and VCUs because of costs to the family (and a little bit because of expansion of exceptional programs at GMU and VCU).

You'll see more matriculations to solid state schools and non-traditional TJ destinations who can gobble up some of these kiddos with major scholarship offers. The raw numbers of accepted scholarship dollars will skyrocket with this class - no doubt.[/quote]

Hit send too soon. What will probably hollow out is the matriculations to mid-tier expensive schools and SLACs. I think you'll also see fewer UVAs and Techs than in recent years because those kids will take scholarship money to go to a slightly lower ranked but still strong school as a value proposition.[/quote]
