If you are not willing to pay that much, post the job at a lesser rate. The rate that college babysitters are seeking has nothing to do with what you make or the relative value of their skills vs. yours. It has to do with what they think the market will bear. If the rate that they are asking for is too high, they won't get responses to their ads, and they will either accept a job at a lower rate or decide that they don't want to babysit.[/quote]
