In-state is $40k all-in for Arts & Sciences (UVA's largest college). In-state Engineering is $50k all in. OOS fees are higher  because .. duh ... they are OOS Engineering applicants. UCLA and Cal Berkeley operate exactly the same way. You don't like it? Go in-state engineering in your own state. Frankly, I wish MORE in-stare options were available at UVA and VT. Too many VA parents have to look for OOS engineering options because theirkids can't get into top engineering schools in VA. They go to Pitt, Penn state when they would rather be in VA. 1/3 OOS is unfair.[/quote]
