"Mid range kids - not putting anyone down" ... oh really? Only a mid-range parent would submit a post like this.  I'm not a fan of this site precisely because of posts like this. That said, I'm trying to get any information I can about this process so I venture in. My DC was just accepted and might very well attend. JMU was one of his "safety" schools, but that doesn't mean it's not a desirable choice. I've heard wonderful things about this school from friends, on-line discussions, as well as a couple random alumni that overheard me talking about JMU.

I really hope my DC never gets on this site and reads some of the mean-spirited commentary that is so abundant.[/quote]
