I am the PP who is married to a fellow second-gen Asian. It is indeed nice to have this common understanding. We are raising our kids not as strictly as our parents did but not as permissively as many of our children's friends' parents. Also, we are not strong conservative Christians like our parents but faith is still an important part of our marriage and family.
