The national media does not seem that outraged about this, and I as a former liberal can only conclude that this is because the shooter was black and it doesn’t fit the narrative.
And here comes the MAGA to make it about race. Never beating the allegations 😌
If the shooter had been white, half the city would have been burned down. It's usually about race first and foremost in DC. I'm old enough to remember when this first happened and people were demanding to know the name and race of the shooter as soon as it happened. The police quickly released the shooters race to quiet people down.
There was never any doubt about the race of the shooter. Any white man living in that neighborhood would make our own Jeff look like a loony right winger, and would never own a gun much less pull the trigger on a kid. If we're honest, we know he'd be too scared to even go outside to check it out.
Oh there absolutely was doubt. The people they interviewed on the streets at the time, community organizers, and neighbors demanded to know the shooter's name and race. Mayor Bowser came out to calm people down and everything. People were getting ready to light up their pitchforks because they wanted to know why the shooter was being "protected"... After not having his name/race announced within hours of the shooting.
Those people are idiots. I lived near that neighborhood and don't live with my head up my a$$, and never doubted nor did my neighbors.
Your neighbors and community organizers definitely doubted. Why would the police need to confirm in the press conference that he was black if there want pressure from the public?: "In the press conference, Contee again refused to identify the shooter, saying the department does not identify people in similar cases unless there is a warrant or it is a person they are actively trying to identify. He only confirmed that the shooter is a Black man who was not a law enforcement official." https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/dc/dc-police-chief-says-misinformation-swirling-around-shooting-death-karon-blake-13-year-old/65-8adb52cb-29c6-4d73-b0d5-60245e6d7d21 The Post article below talks bout how community organizers were cross referencing deed records to figure out who it was. DC neighborhood crews kill each other regularly. When have you ever seen community leaders searching public records for black men who kill each other? They thought the shooter was white until police came out and announced his race: https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/01/09/karon-blake-shooting-dc-break-ins/
